AAR: Algernon Pulls It Off (Again) at Cold Steel, 15 Feb 14

YAAA!!!!!!!!!!!, more than one player for the Algy game, 2 folks running the 3 German flights and 2 running the Allied. Couldn't ask for even a little bit better.

OOBs are here.

So, the point of this game was for the Allies to get their bomber force from one end of the table to the other and the German force was to keep that from happening.

Lots of furball between the the 6 German fighters, paired 1 DR1 with 1 DIII vs 2 Camels and a Spad XIII running interference for a DH4, Br14 and RE8.

The score at the end of the game was 1 (mistakenly) downed DR1, Manfred wounded vs both Elwood and Barker wounded and most likely that at least 2 of the bombers were going to make it.

Here's some pics of the action and many thanks to the players putting up with me pawing through the rules (and outright borking one) and sticking it out to the end.

The fighters shot out to the center of the table and the lumbering bombers (stuck at movement 6) inching along.

Manfred taking advantage of his movement bonus and striking out on his own to run down the bombers:

And Ed decides a Br14 needed to go after a DR1:

Sorry we didn't get to see that one play out.

Well done by everybody that stuck with it. I appreciate the effort.

Two regrets: Not starting the bombers closer to the center and shooting down Lothar outside of what the rules said.

There's playtest feedback from players that will go to the group to help shape the final set.

As Snoopy said, "Curse you Red Baron!"

Of course, all experts know doghouses are not very maneuverable.

The bomber going after the DR1 was......brave....it would have been interesting.
